The New Generation showcase highlights the best of new emerging creative talents expected to propel the Australian fashion industry forward for years to come. Designers selected for the New Generation program are provided invaluable marketing, publicity, and social media coverage to reach a global audience, and industry-networking opportunities. New Generation (previously Next Generation) has helped discover and launch the careers of Camilla and Marc, Kate Sylvester, Gorman, sass and bide, Akira, Amy Lawrence and more.

Alberta Bucciarelli

Taught to knit by her Italian Nonna at three, Sydney-based designer Alberta Bucciarelli blends heritage craft with cutting-edge knitwear innovation.

An AFRL × Shima Seiki Sponsorship recipient, she has worked with Romance Was Born and Carla Zampatti, creating experimental knitwear that pushes Australian fashion forward.

EDITION x Sarrita King

Alice van Meurs & Sarrita King

Founded by Alice van Meurs on Ngunnawal and Ngambri Country, EDITION explores the intersection of fashion, sculpture, and sustainability through its signature zero-waste “Selvedge to Selvedge” pattern-making method.

In collaboration with Gurindji Waanyi artist Sarrita King, the collection transforms Sarrita’s artworks into wearable sculptural garments. Designed to preserve the integrity of the painted surface, each piece merges movement, craftsmanship, and storytelling.

KINGKING CREATIVE

Tarisse King & Sarrita King

Tarisse and Sarrita King, proud Gurindji and Waanyi women and contemporary Aboriginal artists lead KINGKING CREATIVE. With over 20 years of practice, their storytelling, techniques, and artistic passion were passed down from their father, the late William Jungala King.

VAN BRUSSEL

Rachel van Brussel

Founded by Rachel van Brussel, VAN BRUSSEL blends refined European aesthetics with modern urban tailoring. Inspired by Rachel’s experience across Australia, London, Milan, Japan, and Paris, the brand creates sustainable small-batch collections using natural fibres and dead-stock fabrics, defined by slouchy tailoring, modern structure, and timeless design.
